Size guide

Vintage sizes are not today's sizes. A 90s Italian L, a Japanese L and a US L can be three different garments. Every piece in the shop is measured by hand, laid flat, so the measurements in each listing are what you should trust, not the label.

The two-minute check

  1. Take a garment you own that fits the way you like.
  2. Lay it flat and measure it the same way we do: pit to pit (chest, armpit to armpit), length (top of the shoulder to the hem) and, for trousers, waist (straight across) and inseam.
  3. Compare with the listing. Within 2 cm is the same fit.

Flat measurements are half the circumference: a pit to pit of 55 cm is a 110 cm chest.

Shoe sizing varies by brand and era, so each listing gives the sizes printed on the tongue label and the length in cm when we have it.
