Nike Randoseru — the Japanese elementary-school backpack, made by Nike for the Japanese domestic market. A randoseru is engineered to survive six years of daily use: rigid moulded body, one-touch automatic front lock, reinforced base, padded contoured shoulder straps with adjustable buckles and a name-card window under the flap.

These almost never leave Japan. Imported directly, it lands here as an archive piece with a second life as an everyday adult backpack — the Y2K silhouette, the metal hardware and the embossed Swoosh do the talking.
